Afar (album)
''Afar'' is the debut studio album of Ice Choir, the project of former the Pains of Being Pure at Heart drummer and the Depreciation Guild lead Kurt Feldman. It was released on July 31, 2012, by Underwater Peoples. It received mostly positive reviews from critics, with positive reviews highlighting Feldman's use of the 1980s influences and more varied responses criticizing the cheesiness. Production Towards the end of the Depreciation Guild, Kurt Feldman began writing music without any of the NES programming of the band's previous works, and the other members also started losing interest and focus of the project. Considering that it was much more "guitar-pop" than Ice Choir, there were certain limitations and aspects in writing that Feldman did not want to go through, so he decided to try new things and start over with a new project. Kurt Feldman
Kurt Feldman (born January 29, 1984) is an American musician, composer, and multi-instrumentalist based in New York City, United States. He is best known as the former frontman for the Depreciation Guild and as a current member for Afar (album), Ice Choir, as well as for playing drums in the Pains of Being Pure at Heart. Early life Feldman grew up primarily in Westchester_County,_New_York, Westchester and West Village, New York. From a young age, he was surrounded by a musical environment. He started playing guitar at around age 8 or 9 and in bands at age 11. He told Westword about his childhood, "I went to a music camp when I was eleven, and I became friends with a lot of kids who were older than me, like eighteen. There were a couple of summers where I would go to concerts with them, and they'd show me cool stuff and make me mixtapes." Bill Nelson (musician)
William Nelson (born 18 December 1948) is an English singer, guitarist, songwriter, producer, painter, video artist, writer and experimental musician. He rose to prominence as the chief songwriter, vocalist and guitarist of the rock group Be-Bop Deluxe, which he formed in 1972. Nelson has been described as "one of the most underrated guitarists of the seventies art rock movement". In 2015, he was recognised with the Visionary award at the Progressive Music Awards. "Human Nature" is a song performed by American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson, and it is the fifth single from his sixth solo album, '' Thriller''. The track was produced by Quincy Jones and performed by some band members of Toto with Jackson providing vocals. It was originally written by keyboardist Steve Porcaro, based on a conversation he had with his young daughter Heather after a boy hit her at school, Porcaro said "he probably likes you and it's human nature". Porcaro, along with some Toto bandmates, had been assisting with the production of ''Thriller'', but he had not intended for "Human Nature" to be used by Jackson. However, Jones inadvertently heard a demo version of the track and thought it would be a great fit for the album. Jones then brought in songwriter John Bettis to rewrite the verses, whose lyrics are about a passerby in New York City.
